- The Caryota Mitis, also known as the pigtail palm, has unique, feathery leaves that are green in color with a glossy finish. The leaves are deeply cut and have a distinctive shape that resembles a pig’s tail, giving the plant its name. The Caryota Mitis can produce small, inconspicuous flowers, but the main focus is on the striking leaves.
- This palm likes light to moderate shade. Although it can tolerate some direct sunlight, it prefers a spot with filtered light. The Caryota Mitis is ideal for indoor spaces and can also be placed outdoors in a sheltered environment.
- The Caryota Mitis has an average water requirement. It is important to keep the soil moist, but make sure that excess water can drain away. Watering is necessary when the top layer of the soil feels dry. In the winter, watering can be reduced.
