Appearance of the Zamioculcas:

• The Zamioculcas, also known as the ZZ plant, has striking, glossy leaves that are a deep green color. The leaves are thick, oval and sturdy, and grow in a branched form. The plant has an upright growth habit and can produce an impressive reach height. Flowers are rarely found indoors, but in nature Zamioculcas produces inconspicuous white inflorescences.

Location:

• The Zamioculcas is an excellent houseplant that thrives in both light and moderately shaded areas. Direct sunlight can damage the leaves, so it is best to place the plant in a spot where it receives indirect sunlight. The plant can be grown both indoors and outdoors be placed in a warm climate, but make sure it does not get too cold.

Water requirement:

• The Zamioculcas has a low water requirement and can handle drought well. Let the soil dry out completely before watering again. In summer this can be done weekly, while in winter the water requirement is much lower and you only need to water the plant every 2-3 weeks. Overwatering should be avoided to prevent root rot.
